PORTLAND STUDIO

Portland Studio is the studio of the ceramic sculptor - Mary Kaun-English. Workshops are held here for younger children, teenagers and adults throughout the year. Mary has years of experience working with children; including facilitating workshops for Mole Valley County Council and Surrey Arts. The studio is equipped with a variety of tools and equipment as well as a large kiln where the students work can be fired. Mary’s Workshops are informal, letting the students work at their own pace and ability. Free expression is encouraged. It is a wonderful learning environment for children and a relaxing surrounding for adults. Please call for current times and dates or look on Face book under ART FOR YOU WORKSHOPS.

'It was a pleasure to work with Mary. The students thoroughly enjoyed the ceramic sessions and were all pleased with their results. They really responded to her enthusiasm and creativity.'
Imogen Hartridge, Rosebery School

I feel passionate about exposing both children and adults to the process of sculpture. Expressing oneself through this medium is not only therapeutic but also forces the student to observe their environment with a more inquiring mind.
